Ok, if you are gonna go amd you will need a whole new mobo. Second, the fastest proc amd makes is 2.8ghz for a single core, and 2.6 for dual. Third, you only need 2 gigs of ram, 4 is complete overkill. How much money do you have in total?

Ok.. 4 gigs of RAM is overkill at the moment unles you are doing some serious video editing work. You will not be able to use that mobo with an AMd CPU. They are not compatable, so i suggest, take back a gig or 2 from your RAm and put it towards you mobo. You will need a Crossfire ready mobo, so that will cost a bit. You do not need 2 1900XTX, they are a very very good card, and the usual people that get two are people that just want the best out there.. no game will utalise them both. I do not recoment using CrossFire either, its a hastle to use and is not very stale at the moment. I would suggest if you want two top of the end card getting two 7900GTX's in Sli, they are just as good, if not better in some unstanec than dth 1900xtx's but SLi is a more fool proof technology. Althout saying that, as i said before, one of either card is enough.

Dual cores are good, although they are not as good for gaming, if you want a gaming pc, go for a fx 55 or 57, of not go for the X2 4000+ or an opty, any are good, and they OC very well. If you are doing video editing/using multiple programs while running games, X2's/opty's are better.

I've got about 2000 us. But i'm in Korea.

When I went to the guy who will build this he said it would be noproblem to use the same Mobo. Alos the Amd processors he had were 4.0 ghz and higher?

Could I be confused with another company.

What about the crossfire card how exactly does it work?

You can not use a P4 mobo with AMD's. There are 4000+ in AMD (the equiv of a 4Ghz P4) AMD use diffeternt technology, which put simply mean they can run slower and get better results. So AMD run their processors at 2.6 and can match a 4.3Ghz (or so) P4.. jus tthe way it is.

Thank you I just want a really kick ass gaming rig.

I will drop the dual core as I will only be playing games with my rig, but won't dual core become more usefull in the futre when more advanced games some out?

I agree.. he does not know what he is on about.. and that line up looks good, If you do not plan on selling your current pc, then you could get the RAM or the Hd out of that is they aere still in good condition, and are fast. The x1900Xt is better value than the xtx, the xtx is oinly slightly fatser and you play a lot more for it.

Yes, dual core will only become more important especially now that more games support it. Even if they don't having a dual core cpu is still a good buy.
If you want to go crossfire, you will need a second xt (or xtx) as well as a different mobo than the one I picked out.

If you want CrossFire, then you will need a x1900XT CE (CrossFire Edition), and a CF ready mobo, the rest can stay the same. And yea, as Mat said, if you get dual core now, you will be able to run games better down th etrack, as more and more games will start to use that technology.

You may wat to research Opterons (spelling?) They are dual cores, but mean for servers, the good thing there is that as they are meant for servers they run very cool, meaning that they are very good for OC'ing, and since they are dual core, you get the best of both worlds. But i heard that they are stopping production of some of the,.. .not sure bout that though, but anyway.. their worth a loko into.

crossfire is garbage, wait 1 or two more generations for ATI to actually implement an SLI esque bridge, until then dont bother with crossfire. Also right now the ATI chipsets are not as good as nvidia.

An x1900XT with a dual core AMD and an nvidia nforce 4 SLI board would be a good start. Also go with 2x 1GB for a total of 2GB kit. Its the best option right now and more than you will need.

Surely a 7900GTX would be better cos then he could get another later if required, ur suggesting an sli mobo which would be wasted without a nvidia card.

SLI mobos are the best performing, for the most features. NF4 ultra are just as fast but usually lack all the extras, plus with prices so cheap its like a $15 premium usually to upgrade to SLI.

7900's are nice cards, but both SLI and crossfire are lacking IMO at this point, a fast single card is a better route in the near term, esspecially if one has a regular sized monitor.
