that is a nice rig!! The total price to upgrade mine is $1844. thats not too bad but I do already have 2GB of corsair pc3200 ram and a maxtor 200GB/8MB cache drive...it is IDE though..I thought about going ATA or a RAID config...

Again this isnt a flame so please dont take it that way!
I was merely trying to make the poster feel at ease with his AMD processor. That's all.

The best thing I ever did to my system wrt BF2 was upgrade from 1 gig of ram to 2 gigs.

Definately go dual core, but i would drop the Asus 32 board. Dual x16 PCIe slots are way overkill. Go with the Asus SLI Premium, its a passively cooled single chipset solution, cheaper and just as fast. The only place where dual x16 slots might come in handy would be with quad SLI, but odds of ever running that are pretty much never going to happen in the life time of your system. (unless you drop 2 grand on a new video card in a year.. LOL )

Make sure to pick up 2GB of quality ram, that does NOt mean overclocker uber Xtreme memory to the max! But it means a nice brand name such as OCZ, Mushkin, Corsiar, value ram is fine, or you can get one step up from value ram, but dont waste $250-$300 on ram. At most $150-$175 at the most extreme. For close to $140 you can still get good stuff.

For a video card remember that SLI really needs a good high resolution monitor, dont waste your time if your on a 19" LCD or smaller.

For a powersupply dont put $300 in, that is just ludicrous!!!! Around $75-$125 will buy you an absolute awsome PSU that is SLI ready and with all the bling bling fancy cabling, lights, name brands etc... I suggest checking out the HardOCP forums in teh PSU section. Very informative stickies there, and lots of helpful information.
