Source is weird for me to, whenever I change the video setting in source, and try to join a game, the ground is always reflective purple, and I think its artifacting but when I close it and reopen it, its good again.
But yes, uninstall old chipset, driver cleaner, install new ones, MAYBE uninstall>reinstall video drivers if you feel the need. and try turning ON vsync and try again.
ya the purple tiles are common emm i dont have any old mobo drivers on this install so.... emmm wait i'll draw a picture :P they're too fast to screenshot

this all hapens in a fraction of a second just a big fat line when i open catalyst control center or when i close counter strike source... it's like the refresh is too slow

yeah, that could be a number of things going on. try redooing you chipset and video drivers, and hmmmm. make sure your card is in the slot all the way, and make sure your moniter is plugged in correctly lol. BTW, you purchased Zalman Aftermarket cooling for you x850, just for a 30mhz OC??? thats not much of an OC you would be safe with the stock cooling but w/e.
