Because its fun, and I love testing out new products.

From what ive read....there wont be two versions. It will simply install a different HAL for the different processor possibilities. (64 bit or 32 bit, and uniprocessor/multiprocessor.)

and then the needed things to run 32 bit or 64 bit stuffs.

64 bit Vista has a place with enthusiasts today, and everyone 2-5 years from now. 32bit Windows has a 4GB ram limitation, and once the average person has 4GB+ of ram, 64bit will be the defacto operating system enviroment.

Actually, there probably won't be an option for which version you get. If it detects a 64bit proc, you get 64bit vista and won't have an option for 32bit.

No, that's completely wrong. Vista will run very differently from XP. I for one am really looking forward to having drivers run at the user level.

Vista is supposed to make it easier to game, at least on DX10 supported cards. DX9 cards might still see some benefit too, though.

Its a rotational feature built into Vista so you can rotate windows on an axis...turn them on their side for more viewing space. I believe you can also run so many "dynamic" desktops where you can be doing tasks on one, and then rotate it 90* for a complete other desktop thats running a game or something else.

Also, Vista is going tobe running different....but its got a lot of XP's legacy left in it.

Some notable differences are the BIOS being further integrated into windows control. User level drivers. and the "Virtual" folder feature that is part of the increased desktop searchability. I also hear that meta information for file headers are all stored in compressed folders (zip) so they can be more easily read, changed, and searched.

Thanks for that link. Reading right now and starting to think I'll be eating my words soon. I really haven't been too interested in Vista from what I've seen and heard so far, so maybe it's not as bad as I thought. At least it's interesting enough to make me want to read more into it anyway.
