I have the Sennheiser PC155, which is very similar to the PC150. The cups on the headphones are soft and comfortable. Each slides up or down independently. There is a nice, soft pad on the bridge between the earphones which allow me to wear them for several hours comfortably. The mic performance is very good. In fact, I've had it swung up out of the way to eat or drink something and people are still able to hear me on VOIP.

Do they fit ON the ear or completely OVER/AROUND the ear? I hate when they sit on the outer ear and end up pinching.

Nope, they totally encompass your ear.

This might be a bit out out of your budget but I got a pair of Altec Lansing 602's for $13.50 off eBay, they retail for $100.. But the sound quality is excellent and they have lasted me for almost a year now, I had 2 different Plantronics headsets and for some reason the left earpeice starts to lose sound after 3 months.

to make it short and sweet my hand me down head set that ive had took a crap so now i'm force to buy new. i dont belive a dame thing i read in ads, i trust people who have use them, so i ask your help people. which is the best (not the most $) but best all around? thanx.

I have the Sennheiser HD497's, Shure E2c's, and Icemat Siberia's. They all have their goods and bads. The Shures are GREAT for LAN gaming since it drowns out ALL sounds and the speakers are so close to your ear that you can hear almsot every minute detail. Musical quality is very good but the sound does feel a bit squished and not quite as separated per range as I would normally like, though that could be because of the nature of the type of headphones they are.

The Sennheisers are very good headphones and have a very nice balance between lows, mids and highs. They are decent for gaming but sometimes the subtle sounds can be drowned out which may not make them the best for gaming. They are also very light weight and generally very comfortable though they can become a bit fatiguing over a long period of time and might not be the best for large ears. They sound great with music though, well worth the trade off.

I only got the Siberias today and so far I think theyre decent at music but they shine very well at gaming. They emphasise the high ranges which can also be seen by their frequency range. They lack base but thats probably to help with isolating the key sounds found in gaming (UT2K4's water splashes for example). It separates back ground noise well enough. They are extremely comfortable. Havent had a chance to test the mic on them but the reviews Ive read speak very highly of them.

I played with the EQ on my computer and now the Siberias sound much much better than before. These phones do a really good job of isolating the individual notes from one another so they dont blend into a slurry. This is probably due to thier open nature, but more importently how open they are within the earpiece itself. It really gives it a good soundstage and sense of openness. Ive worn them for a while now and they are a bit tight on the head but they should loosen up with time.

Songs you might want to try to test the range of headphones:
Sonata Arctica - Victoria's Secret (higher notes and soundstage)
Pitchshifter - W.Y.S.I.W.Y.G (decent mix of fast pace high and low)
Mc Solaar - Solaar Pleur (base heavy hip hop with violin backdrop)
Seal - Kiss from a Rose (good measure of soundstage and orchistra style tones)
