I am really curious what AMD is going to counter with. Right now they have stretched the same designs since the K7 era into the K8. The Intel core design is fairly innovative, and i shudder to think about how much faster it could be once intel adopts an onboard memory controller.

AMD looks like they are in a tight position with their 65nm chips not coming out until 2007. And even then what unknown benefits will 65nm bring? Right now we dont know enough, but what we do know if the second half of 2006 looks like intel domination.

I actually tried to get a 3200+ from newegg with my own money, but they made me cancel the order when they saw the )

Firts of, you are not him, and you don't know what kind of parents they are. They made him get in intel cause they work there, so why supply the competition with money???? Thing about it. Just like an investor, if you invest on nike, well guess what you better be buying nike, it only helps your stocks.

still wouldn't let them do it, if their product is inferior then they should work harder :-p

No ****, right?

Its not their kids fault that they make inferior CPU's for gaming. (well hell most anything at this point).

I'd tell my parents to shove it if they mandated what PC parts i could buy or could not buy. Or any kind of retail item for that matter.

I used to know this could who's dad worked for Coke and he actually would go up to people and tell them all these obsurd things about how pepsi was infested with bacteria and other gross things. I wanted to smack that kid. (even though im a bigger coke fan than pepsi, that kind of crap has no purpose).

Why is the oc'ed fx slower than the stock one?

Because Intel is the one who set up the test machine, and i think its obvious they made it underperform to make their own chip look better.

I would never trust a comparative bench setup by the competitor.

I think the bench results just showed itself quite well. It was rigged.

I dont care if Intel's Conroe ends up being faster than AMD....if it does, and im in the market for a new PC at the time, ill go Conroe. I'm not a fanboy by any means. My last PC was a 2.4ghz Northwood and I it was a good reliable CPU.

I don't however, trust a company setting up a comparison for itself and its competitor and claiming its 100% legit.

They obviously flubbed that overclocked FX-60.

Thats like GM hosting a test between a honda and a GM car, but GM "tuned" the engine of the honda to make it more even, and then said honda performs worse than a stock one of the same model.

Intel needs to make a good chip on their own good will, and not falsify things.

Don't forget about price... AMD will still win in the Price vs. Performance game.

2.4GHz Dual Core Conroe, something that beats a FX-60, for $315, almost the cheapest Dual Core out right now. Intel will take over the 3 areas with the Conreos; Price, Performance, and Market Share.

I'd start buying Intel stock.

being that anand did all the testing, but intel did set up the computers. Every tech forum in the world has discussions like this and they are getting real nasty.... I will no longer flaunt i had my fun I apologize.
