this is just using newegg.com cos its the only american website i know for pc stuff lol, its missing a case becuase newegg has a very limited supply of cases without PSU's but u pick one up cheap sumwhere else and also most of the stuff is all retail is bought OEM like i did when building mine it would be alot cheaper.

also missing XP media edition but as you know xp is always an expensive thing to buy if you are building your own its probably the only part that you cant actually get cheaper than what manufacturers sell it for bundled in a pre built pc.

No dual channel ram.

No case as you said, but the e-machies cases and PSUs are better than one you could fine for $20.

Socket 754 leave for much less future upgrade potential than the 939 would.

but on new egg an OEM version of xp media edition is about $120, which is ok. but it doesn;t really count the same as the one bundled with e-machinesas its transferable to other machines, the one on the e-machines is not.

But that doesn't make it $600, we didn't say build a better one for more now did we? The machine you built is inoperable without an OS, so yes it does count the same...

I think it was media center. It had window media center in the start menu. and the taskbars and stuff looked more glossy and different.

could easily bring it down the price to $600 including xp but i really cant be arsed to go through nit picking specs anymore i mean just getting rid of the power supply buying a chepaer qtec one that near enough matches the e-machines one and buying a micro atx motherboard would cut it down enough probably.

The 3400+ comes in a few flavors.

754 1mb cache 2.2Ghz
754 512k cache 2.4ghz
939 512k cache 2.4ghz


All of these use the 800mhz HTT

I dont know why the 939 didnt get a 1000mhz HTT but, it didnt.

The ignorance of some people on these forums appauls me.

On topic: E-machines arent too bad....There biggest problems seem to be the motherboards, since they are the cheapest component in the system. But once that burns out you can invest in a motherboard/case pretty cheaply and have a good system up and running in no time.

well im sorry if looked on the amd website and they gave me wrong info, this is why when i built my pc i went with a P4 becuase it seemed like a big confusing mess for me with processors all over the place.

Yeah people dont forget that manufactures make all kinds of weird **** for OEM's
And for whoever said that as soon as he installs the video card the warranty is voided you are wrong, they just wont support the video card.

Then why do the OEM's have a sticker on the case door that says, Warranty void if removed?
