Just go with the g.skill 2.5-3-3-6 timing ram for 143. I'd think it would be better.

He said he got a 3000 and a Venice...which according to NewEgg's search with 1600(800mhz) HT there is only socket754.

I think it's just a typo somewhere in his order and he will receive a 939 Venice 3000+ w/2000(1000mhz) HT.

As for settings: I'd suggest HIGH for everything, 100% view distance, 2x or 4x for AA(try 4x first).

The opteron 148 is in no way cheaper than the 3000+. What kind of crack are you smoking, the 148 is about $100 more. And you can't overclock the 148 like the FX-60 because the 148 is single core while the FX-60 is dual core.....

Ok but is it worth getthing it, paying a lil extra 100$ to overclock it 2.7 - 2.8ghz hellz ya! Mayby it wont perform like a FX-60 but pretty damn close. There a site that revealed it performed better then it i'll post it if i can find it again.

Opteron 148 is SINGLE CORE the FX-60 is DUAL CORE they are not in the same class therefore it is incorrect to compare the two.

Saying:

AMD Opteron 148 its cheaper then the AMD 3000+ and can overclock like a FX-60

Is completely and utterly incorrect.
