I have the MX518 as well, absolute beauty. My first laser mouse as well.

I have forward set to F10 view, and back set to F9 view. Easy removal of cockpit when in a chopper, and you can easily switch to F10 in a vehicle.

hehe it's only an optical mouse... but 1600dpi is still really good :)

The laser for the laser mice is barely visible, to the point where you have to put the hole right up to your eye and you can barely see a little red dot, unlike optical where everytime you pick the mouse up a bit to move to the side more, the entire room is lit up with a red glow.(which is why i switched to laser)

Thats really the only difference to me, because my sesitivey is around 800 i dont usually use the 2000dpi(but it comes n handy for slow moving things like AA or stationary AT)

This is my noobiest moment ever in gaming:
first day I got my 518 (not used to optical light) I thought there was someone outside the house everytime, I saw the little reflection created in the window behind the computer, a little light escaped form underneath the mouse god, how nooby wasn't that?:laugh:
