Weird...so have you tried going into the Options->Controls section for Helos and Planes and remapping the left/right pitch axes?

I'm sure there was a similar thread on this not too long ago.

      Hey just thought i'd ask:

I'm damn good at aviation with the keyboard & mouse. People who do not use flight sticks are always so quick to judge those who do, which isn't really fair. I was wondering if anyone USES Both a Flightstick AND the Keyboard & Mouse, and if so which they prefer and why. Getting good at flying with the K&M leaves me wanting more, and I think a flightstick might be what i'm looking for. Thanks

i think u can clear both keys b4 u set them...and btw since we're on the topic....what makes a joystick good/bad when ur buying...besides number of buttons...i kno mine is bad because the springs broke so now its impossible to center it correctly (its at least 8 years old)

            Re: Need help with joystick

i usually look for sticks i with x and y axis, a throttle and a rudder
i prefer to have each axis nice and smooth for quick moves
i have a microsoft sidewinder precision 2 it doesn't have spring like satiek sticks do and logitech's Xtreme and Freedom are also like mine which are also good

for now there are only a few good ones you can trust so its not hard to pick and choose

the only thing i would be careful is that some old sticks never lower their price once they reaches their lowest point so its easy to get confused and bring home a ten-year old stick for the a very inappropriate price

Try hitting the 'Reset to Defaults' button, then hit 'Apply', then try again.

Are you using your joystick's 3rd party configuration utility or anything?

I have the same joystick, and when I used to have to configure the controls all the time, sometimes I used to have to try more than once, because even though I would move the stick left, it would sense it go right for 1 mm, then go left, so it would always through my configuration off. I took me a few tries until I finally got it to go.

Also, check and make sure that the pitch left and pitch right are different, and if they are, try doing it in opposite directions! When a friend of mine configed his, he would have to move the stick left to set right, and right to set left. When he went in game, the stick worked like normal, left=left and right=right.

I got the controls to where i want em. Now when i go to take off it wants to vere to the right. In flight its fine. I can bomb and shoot down enemy aircraft. And no im not using the software that came with it. Should i install it or no? BTw these are the controls i use. May have to zoom in.

I was useing a joy stick a while ago but I had one problem with it, in BF2 there is no throtle controle. I keep haveing to push down a button on the stick to fly (witch effects my flying) Is their a way to have it where u push a throttle forward and it keeps going at that speed when you let go?

That looks fine...although you are using buttons for throttle control...don't you have a throttle wheel/slider?

You may have to re-calibrate the joystick in the windows game controller control panel or load up your joystick's software to edit the dead zone.

the throttle is a button + and -. I use joy button 7 and 8 for the throttle.

But that looks like a throttle slider at the bottom of the base...it should show up as an axis when you map it in the controls section of BF2.
