The best bang for the buck drive out right now is this the 250Gb SE16 Sata 3.0 drive:

It's just a raptor 150gb, but it has see through so it's cool if u have a case with a side panel. Anyways, Raid 0 is proven not to do that much for performance, and if a hard drive fails, u got pretty much half programs on the on the other hardrive. My advice, get the first link wreck posted and getsome nice RAM with good timings, and i mean 2GB of ram, that'll help ur loading times and just BF2 performance in general.

Also with the drives that have 10,000 rpm, you NEED a surge/powerbackup combo. If the drive is in operation and you loose power, it is a good possibility that you can snap the arms off inside the drive.

when i had 1 gig of ram i usually loaded last now i got 2 gigs im always first i had a 8mb cache 7k rpm harddrive. now i recently got a raptor and a reg storage drive and have noticed no change so mayb look into get mor ram

i'm running seagates in raid 0 and they are fast. i was going to move to raptors but after reading reviews they are not worth the $$$ compared with what i have performance wise. but raptors are good drives please dont get me wrong.

but i really dont get it y buy the most performanced and priced hard drive when u can just get the best ram available and will see extreme performance difference...am thinking a G.Skill or a OCZ platium..

I am running Maxtor SATA2's in RAID 0 Granted they are not very fast or big on size but in some servers I am first loaded and moving. And in other servers not so fast loaded and moving.

Sometimes I suspect a good connection in addition to a fast rig helps get into a server first.

Not only am I the first in, but I am at their main base stealling a vehicle before anyone spawns. That is unless they have an long "time until round starts" setting.
