My corsair XMS ram worked in it for a while until I took it out when my new rig was finished, so I mean, that kind of ram seems to work, 184 pin DDR.

I wouldnt worry about your sisters PC too much, i'd worry about her getting better than you

well she wants better parts, cuz her FPS sucks and sometimes she might play other games with me. Im making sure she REALLY wants new parts tho cuz its a waste if she barley plays the game, cuz she doesnt play it much , unless I ask her to play with me. and trust me, haha, she wont get better than me. she probably one of the worst players online.

If the system is using SDRAM for instance, throw it away.

What twsmit means is that P4's using SDRAM are awful. Making it pretty much useless to invest in an upgrade.



I agree with most of the others, get the ram and the 6600GT. If it uses a dual channel chipset you'll notice a nice boost from just running in dual channel.

the thing is, there is no other upgrading, ONLY the ram and video card. everything else stays, this is not going to be like a future proof ultimate AGP machine, its just a simple upgrade to play bf2 at medium or medium-high and maybe games like FEAR at medium. she isnt going to be playing like AOE3 at max. lol but thanks for all the advice.

Well i googled the specs and it uses single channel DDR memory. That is fine for your sister, and is still worth upgrading.

I would recommend a ram upgrade and video upgrade, but unless you have to buy new, try and pick up used parts.

Off FS/T computer forums or ebay you can probably get a really good deal off a R9700/9800 or a 6600GT etc... used.

You should get the 6600GT it is a solid card with a medium price.
