Hey all, Im helping my sister out with choosing a few new upgrades for her Dell which I handed down to her so she can play BF2 better, right now she plays at ultra low with horrible FPS, she says medium settings is fine, high would be awesome.
Currently she has
2.53ghz Pentium 4
512 Ram (not matched)
128mb nvidia 5700LE.
I know a lot about video cards but Im just looking for suggestions. First off:
Should we get more a gig of ram and take out that crap 512, and then crap out on the GPU and get something like a 6600gt. to have a gig of ram, and a 6600gt.
or should we keep the 512 in there, get a 6800 series and get more ram later or use the left over money to see how much ram we can get? Im going to stay with nvidia for a couple of reasons. A. Im more knowledgable with nvidia and they way the way driver etc and I have never had a problem with them. and B. there seem to be problems with a coupld of ATi cards, not really the newer ones but unless someone can do some serisou convincing, im going to stay with NV.

those are like the same card, but somehow different pages on newegg, can someone tell me the diff?
and heres some 6800's I was looking at:
okay one has DDR2, the other has DDR. The memory clocks are a little different, and one has 128mb memory and the other has 512. basically the same price and I can unlock it to a 6800gt. so suggestions people, I can write more a little later but I have to go right now.
