sorry if i wrote that funny. i can't use my card because my existing mobo has an AGP slot. i did purchase a PCI-E board to go with my new card, but it was DOA. i am currently RMAing the mobo. i didn't intend to put my x1900xt in my agp slot, my new mobo is just dead. i'll have to hold out for another week or 2 now and just look at my pretty new video card as it sits on my desk.
Could you post ScreenShots with the Adaptive AA, and HQ AF on, and then the same shot with say 4xAA, 8xAF? I am very interested to see if there is any real difference with the Adaptive AA, and HQ AF. -Thanks!
Sure, the first shot is with 4xAA, and 8xAF. The second is with 6x Adaptive AA, and HQ 16x AF. You will notice the most difference on the fence for Adaptive AA, and you will notice the smoother blades of grass which is HQ AF. Make sure you magnify the shots to see the detail.
^ Whats your FPS with the 6X Adaptive AA and HQ 16X AF?
-Ben
I get a low of 45 fps close up to the fencing. Looking partly toward the sky and while flying it's a solid 100 fps. Driving around and the majority of the map I get 65 fps.
Thanks, can you remember what you get at stock speeds?
-Ben
That is stock on my video card. I'm not running an overclock unless I'm benchmarking. The overclocking tools out right now aren't compatible with 2d/3d settings on the X1.. cards.
If you are referring to my processor, I've never run it at stock speed except to get into bios when I first bought it. Just pretend it's an FX 62.

Nice job, I think some new tools will be coming out soon, and at least futuremark accepts your scores now. I just pretend I have a x2 5000+

Yeah I have to get around to installing the WHQL 6.2's and get in the benchmarking mood. As far as tools coming out soon, I'm not holding my breath. Already the ATI Tool .25 beta 13 has been released with no X1xx 2d/3d support.
Hell I'm trying to contain myself holding out for a good video card cooler. I have ramsinks picked out. I was going to get the Zalman 700cu or whatever, but people are saying there is no benefit over the X1900 stock cooler.
This is the downfall of buying new hardware, you have to wait for everything to catch up.
BTW how do you know it's dead? I see lots of people on newegg saying their boards arrive doa and just curious what lead them to that conclusion.
with my board in particular i tried plugging in the power on button in every way possible. it would never turn on. also, i tried it with 2 different power supplies. i put the ram in different slots. i even tried resetting the cmos and i had no luck. i followed the manual to a T and even did things my own way after i had no luck with the written instructions. i then plugged in my old board and everything fired up just fine. i did everything i could think of to get that new mobo to work. i even talked with my dad on the phone while doing different tests. the world of computing is his life. he's a small business networking consultant and has built many computers for clients and himself. he has had dead mobos in the past as well.
