Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
New geforce 6600 only running at 8x? (PCI Express card)
Re: New geforce 6600 only running at 8x? (PCI Express card)
oaky, some SLi mobo's come with two x8 slots instead of two x16 slots as they are advertised. either this is the case, or, because the thing was permenantly switched, it went into SLi x8 mode. There is almost no performance difference at all between x8 and x16 ESPECIALLY with that video card. Not to worry.

umm.. with the CHEAPER less powerful ATi X700 i was running.. i was scoring 19721 points in benchmarking..
with this geforce 6600 im scoring.. slightly under 14000
that is a MAJOR performance hit.. something is VERY wrong..
Re: New geforce 6600 only running at 8x? (PCI Express card)
first of all, ATI scores better in 3dmark when comparing similar cards from both companies. the x1600 xt get more 3dmarks than the 6800GS< but he 6800GS is much better for gaming. ALso, maybe the switch was not broken with your x700. AND ALSO!!! The x700 is not worse than the 6600. The x700 is comparable to the 6600gt, and is better than the 6600 regular. And no matter what, the performance between x8 and x16 is not even like 1%. Just get a better card.

not true if i'm mistaken the 6600GT owns the x700 in just about everything. However the x700 is a better card the the vanilla 6600.

wow, its hard to believe the X700 is better than the gf 6600 considering any place that sells both, the geforce costs more..
i elected to go with the 6600 because unlike the Ati.. it can be run in SLI with another one..
ill be running 2 6600s.. that should be a little better than the x700 eh? heheh
also, sure the ati card should probably score more marks than 1 660.. but THAT much?.. the X700 shot almost 20,000 and the 6600 UNDER 14,000... thats not a small difference.. or a even medium.. thats an ASS KICKING.
Re: New geforce 6600 only running at 8x? (PCI Express card)
first off, get the new freiking versions of 3dmark lol. what are you using 01? Get 05 and 06 (AT LEAST 05 since the 6600 aint so good). THEN, post your 05 score. Also: yes you can SLi two 6600's, but thats about 250$, which you can buy a 6800GS with, and a single 6800GS is much better than TWO 6600's. Just a lil info , so go get 3dmark05.
Re: New geforce 6600 only running at 8x? (PCI Express card)
well the guy that sold me the MOBO found the SLI flip card, so tommorrow it will be installed.. HOPEFULLY that will pick up the performance a little, next week ill have the 2nd card and then maybe i wont be so goddamn ****ed off
Re: New geforce 6600 only running at 8x? (PCI Express card)
just remember dont get mad when you're in SLi and you have x8 bandwidth, its stupposed to do that in SLi. but serisouly, x8 and x16 are almost no different. AND, if you think they are, go buy the ASUS A8n32 Sli mobo for 250$. It has dual x16 slots so in SLi it doesnt go down to x8 and stays boht at x16.
