No you can't overclock to ultra speeds. The ultra had GDDR3, while the LE doesn't. You'll never get the LE's ram to the speed of the ultra.


I thought you said you knew what you were talking about?

Did I write Ultra? I mean 6800GS speed. For 125 buck that would be his safest bet.

either one works for me, they are both beautiful. the other factor is speed (fps) and price(which i dont give a good god damn about now lol i want something good!@!@)

You realize screenshots don't mean jack right? You can have a great looking screenshot, and ****ty FPS. Plus, for the most part, high settings will look the same no matter what card they're on.

very true very true. so in that case I will tell my FPS! With one card and a gig of ram on max settings I averaged about 40fps, and on high settings around 55. with 1.5gig of ram add about 5 fps to each setting. (with Vsync on)

The Graphics on the game can only go so high. I have 6800's and my friend has a 7800 and I notice No diffrence's but FPS

I would go with the 7800 GT or GTX Since im a big fan of nvidia after having problems with ATI.

As far as the 6800 LE goes, don't get it. You can only unlock the piplines on AGP cards and most of the time it doesn't even work (trust me i tried it twice didn't work either times). The LE also only has 128mb ram which sux 4 bf2 (again i hav a 128 6800 vanilla and i can't even pull off medium settings). I hav heard that the 7800 GT is very good for the price, so i might recommend that, but i also hav a feeling that the x1800 cards might be pretty good too; more $$ tho. just a though

I would go with the ATI X18/900, better performance in BF2 and high quality AF

alright thanks guys ive decided to just put this off until a little while later. right now im gonna buy ram (only got 768 hehe, gonna go to at least 1.5 gigs). i just wanted a card that had a little more vrooom than the one i have now. its graphically beautiful but just lacks speed and memory

But if i where you i would try my hardest to get the 7800GT.Its worth it.
