Just get a 7800GT. There is NO reason to get a X850XT. Even an ATi fanboy would have trouble justifying that.

How about it being £142 in the UK? Much cheaper than a 7800GT and a better bang for buck.

Then don't get an SLi board. It makes no sense to have an SLi board and an ATi card.

And your argument is extremely flawed. Basically you're saying ' I want a Radeon juts because it's a Radeon, even though I could get a better performing nVidia card and an SLi board.. but I'm sick of nVidia!'.

What everyone is saying is you don't need an SLI motherboard to get PCI express. If you are dead set on ATI then get a board with a single PCI express slot and not SLI. The SLI feature is only for Nvidia cards.

Ya, it's a waste of money to get SLi if u get ati, and vice versa if u get nvidia but u get a crossfire mobo. Anyways, ATi comes out with new drivers every month, they have better support than nVidia.
