Doesn't matter how much RAM gets recognized, it won't increase your BF2 performance. Stop wasting your money.

I don't expect any performance increase in-game, but since people have claimed faster load times and other improvements, I'm testing it to see if there's any difference at all between 2 and 4GB.

If there are no gains whatsoever, I'll simply return the sticks - I've still got 5 days left..

So far I've only done tests with 2GB 1T on x64, and the results are pretty much the same as on XP32 - however the Sandra Memory Bandwidth showed a higher bandwidth in x64 (6030 MB/s).

Oh, and I'll waste my money any way I want :)

4 gigs of ram is pretty nice, but too expensive for my setup. but at my mom's lab, they have this sick macintosh over there with a 30'' widescreen lcd monitor and a 6800 ultra

The numbers displayed are the seconds it took from loading started, to the verification was complete. Each map has two numbers (two tests) for better accuracy.

4GB (2.5 in XP), 2T:
Karkand: 23.7 - 23.7
Dalian: 23.6 - 23.4
Mashtuur online: 26.0 - 24.2
3DMark05: 11 942

2GB, 1T:
Karkand: 23.0 - 22.8
Dalian: 24.1 - 23
Mashtuur online: 25.1 - 24.3
3DMark05: 12 088

So, if we look at these results, there's NO benefit wrt loading times when running 4GB. Actually, the loading times overall are lower for the 2GB configuration!

Yeah, but for the record, your comparison is flawed. You are only comparing 2GB vs. 2.5GB, so your initial claim that "there's NO benefit wrt loading times when running 4GB" is baseless.

True, and a good point indeed.
However, this is why I also bought Win x64, to test 2 vs 4 properly - and I'm still testing!
I'll try to put up some results during the weekend :)
