      KillerUK,
Your mobo is the MSI K8N Diamond SLI mobo? If it is make sure your card is in the 16x speed slot. Using a card in an 8x slot wont effect games that much but it will hurt your synthetic benchmarks.

My GTX in the 8x slot scored something like 7500, and I freaked! Once I realised the 8xspeed slot might be effecting it I reverted back to the 16x slot and got a more satisfying 8500 (or whatever the figures were... but it was a big difference).

Make sure you're using a 16x speed slot.
Your display properties can tell you this, see screeny above.

      Best of luck!
      Gary

      PS-
correct order for installing windoze and drivers. Juggling them around isn't recommended unless ur very thorough in removing old drivers. Just a reminder:
      1. Windows
      2. Mobo drivers
      3. Graphics card driver (use a proven one... latest doesn't = greatest!)
      4. SP2, Updates
      5. Firewall, AV
      6. BF2 !!!111

      PS2-
I found this for you, a guy having a similar problem to you with the same mobo. Here.

            Re: Little Help Please

            Glad to help!
            Yeah 5100 > 7550 is a nice improvement!

For anyone else reading here the initial problem (low 3dmark 05) was fixed by upping the voltage to CPU and RAM. The problem (which also caused a boot issue) was being caused by KillerUK's CPU and RAM being under-volted by his mobo. His mobo is an enthusiast one; so tweaking is required -plug n play doesn't necessarily apply.

Also nice to see Phil's 7800 GT comfortably overclocked to 475/1.15 and the copper BFG cooler keeps it a positively frosty 45C after 3Dmark!

            Well done!

            PS-
phil's 3DMark05 worked out like this:
            Score before voltage fix: 5100
            Score after: 6907
            Score with OC GT: 7550

                Re: Little Help Please

considering how much more your graphics card is overclocked then mine, if mine is low i would also say yours is..

50 mhz core and 50Mhz mem shouldn't make 1000pt diffrence.

Agreed , MSI's update tool is one of the best and easiest ways to update your rig .All done for you , which is nice !

But your processor is overclocked to 2.85 (on water, no less). Besides, give him some time to tweak n oc n he'll get close to those points, on air. Finding the best forceware, updating bios and up to date files using the MSI Update thing rymaples (keep on bumping into you :P) suggested will help squeeze out them points.

(EDIT) Also, 7550 is a pretty good score for a GT. Below are from extremetech using an fx-55 setup.

But at the end of the day 3dmark is synthetic, n all that tweaking = less time playin BF2!

Nice rig tho jimmy! I want water+DD blocks on my gtx!!
