    Little Help Please

Basicly I have just finished building my new pc and I am getting very low 3D Mark 05 and other benchmarking programs.

    The specs are AMDx2 4400+
    BFG 7800GT
    2GB ram
    MSI Dimond motherboard

I am getting a 3D mark score of around 5100 and am getting beaten by lower spec computers.

If you have any ideas then please help me out.

    Thanks,
    KillerUK

I got a driver cd with my motherboard with a Nvidia nForce4 system driver on it if that is what you mean. They are installed fine :hmm:

Check the AMD website as there is a patch for dual core machines. Your score isn't terribly far off as most of that score is based on the video card.

My 3700+, 2GB, X850XT PE scored a 6975 on 3d Mark. And technically my processor is better for gaming then most of the dual cores are.

Actually it is pretty far off, at stock speeds I was in the 7ks with my 7800gt.

Go to www.msicomputer.com and work your way to the support/download section. D/l and install MSI LiveUpdate and then use that to update your chipset and various other system drivers. Just leave the BIOS alone.

I have the MSI live update program, but when I open it, it takes me to a webpage with very little on it, only a few bullet points with nothnig written after them.

I have the latest drivers from Nvidia as well.

Is there any settings in the BIOS that I would need to change when you build a computer? At the moment they are all set to what they were as standard.

I have a SATAII hard drive as well if that makes any difference.

                Thanks

Just make sure you check in the Bios the RAM, CPU etc are all running at the correct settings and not some really low default value.

Ok could you explain to me how to do this and for a 4400+ dual core what settings am i looking for?

I also have the ram at the top of this page so what settings do I need to have for them

                      Re: Little Help Please

In the bios, the fsb for your chip needs to be at 200mhz with a multiplier of x11. Voltage at 1.3v. I will assume you have DDR 400 Ram with those specs, just check that they are indeed running at the right speed and not 133 or something awful. HTT set at x5.

Double check your drivers are all up to date.

Ok I went into bios and checked a few things. Here are what they are set to.

                        High performance mode - Manual
                        CPU FSB Frequency - 200
                        HT Frequency - 5x
HT Width (arrow down)16 (arrow up)16
CPU Spread Specturm - Center spread

thanks for the help undies, if i could add you to msn or yahoo that would probalby be easier than talking on here. PM me you addy.

Just remember Games don't yet support Dual Core so your not going to see score that are much higher than the single core equivalents.
