I've got a problem and I need YOUR opinion!

Im buying a 6800GT (going to go to the store in a few minutes to place my order), Its Inno3d Pci-E x16 256MB version. My problem now is that i only have 300w of power in my rig and i dont think that this will be enough. What do you guys suggest as a new PSU and how much is an ideal one for my system (pls give me the price in dollars)? THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!

There is no 6800GS in my country (Philippines) at the moment. Anyways, i went to the store and I ordered a 6800GT Pci-e card (Inno3D). I gues ill be able to play all me settings on high atleast, am I right?

With shuttering yeah. You'll need 1.5 or 2gb of ram to pull it off without hitching.

I've got a PSU in mind but it only cost about $30. Is this price good? too low? FOR 500W?

ok its not the wattage its how much ur 12v rail can handle. As i run my 7800GTX on a 450watt PSU but its 12v rail (i think, havnt checked in a while) is 27amps. I dont know what a 6800GT will require power wise but i think you should be looking for a good 420watt PSU

This PSU maybe exspensive but it has more than enough power to run your pc. If you buy a cheap PSU it will either break or not take the strain.

300W is too low to run a 6800GT (considering if its a crappy 300W).

Get a quality 400-450W powersupply, check the sticky.

Dont you have any family or friends that are going to visti the US soon, ask then to bring a GS over for you, just have then buy it here, and bring it over, and you pay then the money. Or know someone who has family over, and ask then if they could get it, and ship it to you.

but anyway, 500w is too much for just one 6800gt, well I mean you can get it, but it would just be a waste of money. Im pretty sure 400watts on up will do the trick. I had the crappiest 450watt PSU and it handeled my single 6800gs sweetly.
