Flanker, you really need to go read up a little bit more. Some motherboards absolutely suck because there aren't enough options. Sata ports aren't locked, etc. BIOS options are considered part of the mobo, so if you can't raise your vcore over 1.4V, you won't oc that much and that board sucks for overclocking. There's so much involved in a good oc I can't put it all here. The point is, you need a good motherboard to have stable high overclock, along with RAM and a PSU. Everyone knows that an oc depends primarily on the cpu, that's a gimme. Doesn't matter what board you have, if you're chip can't oc, then it can't oc. I've owned 3 boards in the past 4 months and I can tell you there is a difference in all 3.
