It's finally time for a VIDEO CARD upgrade!!!

right now i have a radeon x700 pci-e 256mb video card. i play bf2 on all medium, low dynamics and 6x AA and it runs smoothly. should i get a 6800GT for christmas? its the most expensive card i can afford right now. what do you guys think? another card instead? pls post yur ideas here.

I also need an upgrade for my pc. The card im getting is the new Nvidia GeForce 6800 GS, Its much cheapr than the 6800 GT and clocks faster too. In my opinion go for that.

yea the 6800gs wuld be good or maybe the x800xl if ur on a lower budget.

For Nvidia- 6800GS! Great card

For ATI- X800GT02, its a X850XTPE when modded. And a great card. If your from the UK X850XTs are going quite cheap.

If you can wait a bit, the new ATI's are suppose to be out next month, maybe it will lower the prices of some of today's cards, also if you can't wait, i would say to try to get a 7800GT, but besides that i do believe that the 6800GS is an awesome card.

the x800 series is really good, but the 6800gs is awesome. i have one, and i could play bf2 at 1024x768 at max with 2xAA perfectly.

Your sig says your graphics bus is PCIE.. If so, 6800GTs are approx £200 and a 7800GT retails at approx £230. If you can afford £230 get the 7800GT which is a current rather than last generation card. If your budget is more like £150-£170, a 256mb 6800GS would be a good upgrade and overclocked a little, has performance comparable with the 6800GT for considerably less cash.

I went from the X700PRO AGP 8X 256mb to the X800GTO PCIE 256mb 16X, my FPS are up 10-15 over my X700Pro.

I have a 6600gt and I can run high settings, but I dont think its worth going from a x700 to a 6600gt.

Also looking to upgrade, have a geforce 5700 LE 256MB AGP card, albatron MB, 1 GB Kingston HP RAM. Custom settings close to medium, gameplay is OK.

Is PCI express different than PCI, meaning will it work in a PCI slot?

There are so many choices I am a little confused. Looking for advice on a good choice around $200 for AGP. I cant find the 6800gs in AGP

Unless you make the jump to a 7800GT or GTX or something simular it isn't worth the time/money. Atleast in my opinion.
