    2gb of ram really needed?

this review comes to the opposite conclusion

Tom's Hardware helps you buy the best hardware and build the best PC to play, create and work..

i have 1gb of ram its great on other games such as cod 2 and fear
it has a few problems with bf2 on larger maps i get unstable fps from 30-90 in the first 30 seconds

i heard there was a creative sound card fix for bf2 but i cant find it on the forums has this been fixed with the 1.3 patch?

When you post a review like this, at least read through it first. On the very page you posted it even says: "You might be looking at the graph and think to yourself that the 15% performance gain doesn't really seems to be that big of a deal. [...] However, you will probably come to a totally different conclusion after reviewing the other graph below."

How about clicking Next, and viewing the graphs there? 2GB does make a difference.
BF2 is very memory hungry compared to other games.

Honestly, it really does take two gigs of ram in order to play all on high, no matter what anyone else says.

going to 2 gigs of OCZ was the biggest improvement for ,me on BF2.

Cool, I got the OCZ Platinum 2x1GB dual channel kit, PC3200 DDR 400 running at 2-3-2-5.

Kicks my old 2x512 DDR333 Kingstons to hell and back.

Exactly the same as what ive ordered, did you get the EL (Enhanced Latency) version?

Ive got a sucky 1gb set up at the moment, consisting of 2x256 sticks which are incredibly old, and a GeiL Gold Dragon Value 512mb stick. Surprisingly, BF2 runs quite well, although its about time I upgraded.

From what ive heard, nothing but good will come out of running 2gig in my system while playing BF2.

EDIT: Lol @ bigpappa ! Were the identical RAM trio. And MatDef, http://www.overclockers.co.uk have the set as a weekly deal this week on this kit, ends tomorrow though I think!

EDIT AGAIN: Damn, your in Oakland.

                              2.(as you noticed)They don't ship to California. :p
