Yea snuffeh, mine is EL, I got this one: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatal...th_Series.html

the top one, OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC3200 Dual Channel Platinum Series EL-DDR CAS2 (MY-057-OC) I can run them in 2-3-2-5 with fastcommand activated in the BIOS with zero issues, they weigh a little though :p

2GB is very nice. Just wish I hadn't gone cheap and got value ram

SFR-MAINE I bet you'd see even better performance if you chucked that aspire too. I had the same one and it was garbage :S

While were talking about 2gb... would 1.5 ram help a lot from 1 gb as well ?

No no no you don't have to have it but I do and it works great on the larger maps. It also matters with your connection speed

I play all high with 1gb. Seriously, but like said, i get lag in like the first 30 sec to 1 min that i enter a server.

Re: 2gb of ram really needed?

1.5gb of ram is fine with systems with 3 slots of ram and already invested in useing 2 out of the 3 slots. I have a question though: on a 4slot board, can I use 1GB Kit (OCZ Gold) with a 512mb kit (OCZ or something as nice), or do all 4 sticks need to be the same amount?

2gb is like the new standard to have good performance. Whoever says 2gb is overkill for new games needs to be smacked and try playin BF2, Quake4 or FEAR...the ram helps and it helps big time now.

ive only got one gig and mine runs pretty good, i get lag once in a while and stuff but not too bad. but my brother has two gigs and he said its a big improvement, but he still doesnt run his graphics any higher than me so...

                            Ok, it arrived.

Gotta' say, performance boost is amazing! Super-quick verifying client times, (and load times) Alt+tab to desktop and back is also sickeningly fast, game is smooth as hell.

                            Gotta' love it.

with my Kingston 400MHZ DDR 2x512

i have 1gb of ram its great on other games such as cod 2 and fear
it has a few problems with bf2 on larger maps i get unstable fps from 30-90 in the first 30 seconds

i heard there was a creative sound card fix for bf2 but i cant find it on the forums has this been fixed with the 1.3 patch?
Or made worse by the 1.12 patch.

You can use non matching amounts in dual channel. It will work but it's not meant to be run that way and may cause issues. I always recommend matching amounts of ram in dual channel. Also the timings and preferably brand should all match as well.
