Um how is he suppose to play BF2 or anything for that matter without an OS? What normal person, ie non computer builder, has an OS lying around? You can't use the crap from a Dell or Gateway. So you need an OS. Also you need thermal paste. But I haven't built any computers lately so I wouldn't know. Good luck.

Why would he need thermal paste? The retail amd boxes come with a heatsink that has a thermal pad on the bottom.

It isn't thermal pad. It's thermal paste, of which has been compressed. I've gotten a little of that stuff on my hands when i was installing, not a very good compound, but better than nothing.

Actually, if you have an old computer or something, you could look inside the case and see how everything works, what parts go where, etc. That's what I did. And yeah, I just turned 16 so i'm saving up for the computer in my sig. I'll probably just buy the the parts I need (MOBO, Ram, Card, PSU, Case, etc.) first, then other parts later on.

Hey man. I would be more than happy to build you a computer. I am more than trustworthy, and have already built my own PC that I am using right now. I'm not going to ripp you off, because even if I did you would have my address and PayPal. If you're interested please contact me and we can get it sorted if you'd like. I will not charge anything to build the PC, you just have to buy the parts and have them shipped to me, or send me the money via PayPal so I can buy them and send it to you.

Does your friend know alot of computers, or is he just offering help? I'd build the thing my self to be honest, lol. But yeah, if you had 2 options between your friend, and someone over the internet, go with your friend.
