You really can't expect to spend a little money, but get a high end machine. It doesn't work that way. It's like saying "I'll buy this 10 speed mountain bike for the price of a tricycle".

Save some money and go with a 6800 GS.

but i dont get why people would get a 7800 gt, if it plays the same as a 6800 GS

i can get these 3 comps

3200 venice amd
1 gig ram
motherboard with pci-e 4 ddr slots
nice case with 400 watts power
6800 GS
oonboard high def 7.1

PREBUILD FOR 750

or
venice 3200 amd
nice case with 400 watt power
1 gig of ram
7800 gt
onboard sound card

this i will have to make by myself, using a barebone from ebay
i have also not ever made a comp

2 gigs of ram

this i will also have to build by hand using the same ebay barebone.

ugh, i donno, i will also get an extra 100 at end of mo. for a total of 850.

i dont get why i cant get the barebone system with 7800 gt, with 1 gig for now....

for 750, 100+ in a mo.

The difference? About 12 pixel pipes and clock speeds, as well as a different chip.

The 7800 GT is the better card. Makes sense, since it is rather more expensive than the 6800 GS. That doesn't mean the GS can't play all games maxed.

And yes, the GS can play with everything maxed if you have 2G, and so can the 7800 GT. You have to realise that, a computer that is conisdered high end on emonth, may have trouble playing games with everything on low @ 800 by 600 the next. That is the way with hardware, it is evolving constantly.

$800 is really not enough to build a high-end machine.

It would be wiser to ask..

'can someone build me the best possible computer they can for $800?"

not

'can someone build me a computer that can run with everything MAXED $800?'

Again, it's like saying 'Can I buy a car that will break the sound barrier for a thousand bucks?'

i guess im gonna get this comp.
ima keep everything the same except downgrade the motherboard (get an extra 11)
up the fans to the 2nd option. keep the case, upgrade the ram to 1 gig, upgarde the videocard to 6800 GS,

in total it will be 749.

i will add the extra gig of ram later in 1-2 mo.

ps. i like this retailer cus there cheap,very reccomnde, and there only 40 min drive from where i live, so no shipping or tax =]

People get better vid cards for future games. Ones that are even more graphics demanding than BF2.

It has a copper (good for cooling) heatsink, and it's factory overclocked. And it's barely more expensive, and from a much more trusted company.

If you don't know any thing about hardware, you're going to have a hell of a time building it. There are so many things you have to take into consideration and one mistake can fry your entire chipset. Not mentioning losing all your money on a non-refund situation. You're better off letting someone else build it.

aite thanks, but as of the pcu, i really dont have a dime more to spend, actually my limit was 700, i guess you could say im conning my mom/stealing the extra 70, sicn eshe wont bother to check the final emailed reciept.

anyways, many people on feedback said the pcu was decent, and the case was decent to if u got 1 undamaged.

so thanks, also that hard drive is compatible right?

Ok, I just checked, that hd is NOT compatible, you want to get a sata drive, not scsi.
