Me too im playing now on a FX5200 and it lag like hell, especially when you're in a smoke or an arty...

anyway, my friend gonna sell me his ATI radeon 9600 pro 256mb

My 6600gt plays the game fine. I use the "High" setting from the pull down tab.

Might want to get more ram also. 512 won't really cut it for bf2. And bf2 is very ram dependent. So you might notice a increase if you upgrade that.

My FX5200 duznt get any lag on low but i HATE low

i only get lag when i use some of the new SF stuff, especially night vision.

their are good offers i got a ati700x 256 agp or whatever for like under 100$ and it works like a gem also invest in some ram if you ahvent already

I have the same computer and no you don't ...that is the pci e slots, unless you changed the mother board from dell. My suggestion to you is get a new computer for 500 bucks and just save. You are screwed if you don't have 300 bucks in and around. I personaly bought a ati x 700 radeon and it does ok 45 to 90fps but mostly 45 with shaders off and everything on medium. and I had a 5200 fx along time ago but replaced that with a ati 9600 all in wonder for a 100 but it is horrible for bf2. I went out in october and got the x700 and it is not great but we have a 250watt power supply and it is a enough to run the card but not enough to run it at full capacity so I am in the process of trying to get a 400watt power supply. I paid 219 american smack a roos with tax total for the ATI x700 agp at best buy.

See you are F#$%ed cause your computer will cost to much to upgrade in comparsion to just buying a new one. AT best you are going to get 30fps at 1028 x 768 @60htz with medium everything and your shaders on low with a new card...I telling you I know. I have a dell 4600 demension with 1gb of ram and the ATI x700 with a 40gig hd and that is the best I get, just save and get a new computer. Just by one in a bs store, just make sure it has a good mother board in it and you are set. dell is getting 400 over the market price for most cards simply because they can.

Okay look, You arent going to be able to get anything good under 200.
It's just not going to happen.

And all you guys with your 'high' settings have nothing without AA turned on.
So my advice to you, Is ask for Cash for christmas. Put it with your 200. and go buy you a 6800 gt. I can play the game on high, with aa on 2x. which makes the game look very good.

the 6200 isnt worth it.

and i wouldent go near ati with a metal rod... unless you plan on playing HL2.

If you notice, all other games have "Plays best on nVidia" or whatever. they arent just blowing smoke.
