    Re: Ultra High?

Jep. In Denmark (my country) it's going to cost around "calculated" $600 + tax = $750 for me to buy that graphics card. :) Afterwords I'll get the 4000+ CPU since it pwns in that other thread. :)

WEll, looking from all your posts now that i've seen, i'm thinking your a nvidia fanboy (no offense, it's just all the posts you ever posted that i've seen are nvidia biased) plus, the reason that i said the X1800XT was a good choice was because i thought that 512mb 7800GTX was comin out at like early next year, but since it is on monday, the GTX is a great choice, that is if you have the money.

Nvidia fanboy? Its the plain truth that if the X1800s CLEARLY beat the 7800s, then I would ALWAYS say to go for the X1800s over the 7800s. I'm not a retard. As we can see, the X1800s CLEARLY DON'T beat the 7800s.

And if you're referring to my saying that the 7800GTX 512MB "destroys" the X1800XT, well, its pretty much true. The X1800XT doesn't stand a chance against the 512MB version of the 7800GTX. The X1800XT is ON PAR with the 256MB version 7800GTX...

Wow, nice flame, but it don't cut it, seriously, my opinion before, was based on the fact (actually not a fact, but you get it) that the 512mb version is coming out like in 2006. DOn't flame again, cause then it shows how little experience you have on forums. OUtta my first 200 posts on like 30% of them were flames, don't take on the legacy. Trust me, flaming gets you nowhere, you think you win for the ten minutes that the other guy hasn't found out about the post yet, and then the other guy thinks the same. Plus, the posts you say are still nvidia biased, everybody is biased, i don't know what a non-biased opinion really is. BUt i can really see the nvidia favoring in you. All of your posts say nvidia is better that i ahve seen. So here's a little question to see how biased you are: If you had every single good game in the whole world that ever came in 2004-2005, and you had to buy a graphics card to meet the needs of all games, which would you get, 6800Ultra, or X850XT (not plat edition)? You may only choose from those two cards, and both of them are lets say free, you won a contest, they give you a choice of the two. WHich will u choose? Lets see how biased or non-biased you are?

            Re: Ultra High?

Personally, I dont get it. I'm happy w/ whatever card gives me what i want. There's always something new and better a month after you make your choice. So either way you loose. But I don't want to look at it that way. I look at it like this- I want X product, but I never get it brand spanking new, I wait for a "deal" before I make a pick. It might not even be what i wanted, it may not even be the equivalent. But I always get what I want out of what i purchase.

I've had 6800gt and an X850Pro, the 6800GT was the better card, but not by much. The 6800GT crapped out on me after 6 months. I wanted a 7800, but not for what they cost. An X850xt pe happened to be at a great price, so i took it, and I couldn't be happier. So dont spend a fortune for something that will be the old great card, just be happy w/ what you got, and for the price you got it for. After all, its not apple's and oranges, it's just a bunch of different apple's, some may taste better- but for what you pay, it's not worth it.

                Re: Ultra High?

                I would get the 6800Ultra. :)

I know it wouldn't be the best with ALL games, but it would be better in most of the games. :)

Total Non-Fanboy remark because its common knowledge that the 6800Ultra raped the X850XT, in everything excluding HL2 :)

That one motherboard you linked to seems pretty good. However I couldn't understand some of the specifications (I only speak English and a little French) The Only thing that I saw that might be a problem is the motherboard only has 2 slots for RAM. I'm not sure which ram you want to get, but if you want 2GB you'll need at least 2 sticks of 1GB. About the video card, if you can afford it go with the 7800gtx 512. It'll be faster than ATI's x1800xt for sure!

Any chance of you finding a motherboard, supporting socket 478, having 4 dimms of ram available and supporting PCI-E?

It should be like I can buy it here in Denmark. Not through Newegg because they don't send to Europe.

                    Thanks in advance. :)

YEs, it will, but there's no difference between ultra high, and high, at least not noticible by human eye. Te only thing it does is take away extra frames per second. JUst play on all high, more fps, no difference from ultra high.
