Also try adjusting your Graphics Apeture size in Bios, I got the Darqin Oilfields stutter before I adjusted mine, mine was on 128 it's now on 256 and BF2 all high settings x4AA and no stutter, and my system worse then yours.

From personal experience, 1.5-2GB ram is the key.

A64 3700+ mobile @ 3GHz
2x512 OCZ old BH-5 @ 275MHz 2-2-2-10
sapphire x800xtpe @ 600/600
WD74 raptor

HTT @ 2x, so that makes it 275x2=550MHz
aperture = 256
fastwrites off
commit charge with nothing loaded = 250Mb, so that gives about 770Mb for BF2. runs great...

If I take out a stick of Ram right now BF2 will run like crap. Granted I am running a slower CPU and a worse VGA card and still getting ~60fps with everything on high with 1280x1024 resolution on 64 player maps.

Ok look, i have a P4 3.0 and a 6800GT, when i had 1GB or ram, i could not run on high, once i got 2GB, I could play high with no problems at 100fps, mroe ram is what you need, as you can see your graphics card and cpu are faster than mine, but you dont have 2GB of ram, and that is what is holding you back.

PCIe doesn't have a apature setting, he's not using agp, did you even bother to read the first post?

I have a similar set up, run in full graphics and get 90 FPS on average with no choppiness, so i dunno what the hells gone wrong

You need 2gb of ram and it will work fine!!!

im still having issues, however it runs not too bad with textures set to medium.

i am very interseted in what your EXACT settings are, AlphexHunter? you have my specs basically except your running asus. maybe my mobo is the problem?

Jerkiness comes because you are swapping between memory and hard drive, so the solution is, more memory.

It will help all around performance on the computer, so why not?

im not against getting 2gb of ram, in fact its my next planned upgrade.

what im trying to figure out is why some people are running it fine with 1gb and i am having troubles

i will be testing my system out with my friends 2x1GB sticks soon, i will let you know if it fixes the jerkiness/skipping in the game!

1.5 Gig RAM, better CPU, this will give you the best performance, to get top performance out of your 7800, you might need up to a 3800+ and 2 Gig of RAM.

If his current 3200+ is A64 there's no need to upgrade to a 3800.
