For precision the mouse and keyboard is porbably better.
But a joystick just makes it so much easier to fly and once you get used to it, you can get pretty precise with it.

Say you want to do a very tight turn. No big deal on the keyboard since it's only got full turn or no turn. But what happens when you want to make a looser, longer turn? There's no way to make it smooth.

Finnally, it's just a much more natural interface. There's a reason that joysticks exist in every cockpit of every plane.

On the flipside, I do find mouse control for helocopters to be just fine.
      yeah i figured.

http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/sub...EN&catid=14263 Are there better deals for the extreme pro you might know of? I live in Canada and I'm having a hard time finding a company that delivers.

I use the Logitech Attack 3, and it works fine as a beginners joystick and it's cheap.

But my Roommate has a the Extreme3DPro and that things kicks ass, the main advantage is the twist on the stick. I don't have it and for that reason i can't use the throttle effectively when i'm Jetting, because i have to have my left hand on the keyboard.

I'll buy the Extreme very soon.

Kinda funny, this thread is a classic example where we like to hear ourselves talk. About 10 post ago the creator of the thread ordered the 3D pro yet we still are posting what he should get...

So i say good for him because i would have told him to get the 3D pro too. Although somthing will break on it within the year :-) but for 30 bucks thats OK
