huh, ya i cleaned up my startup apps, but i didn't take out my printer thing becuase i was worried it would mess it up. i heard that anivirus programs tkae up tons of ram, but i am reluctant to disable mine, even just during games. Cpu used just when im typing this is 3%-0%, mostly 0 tho. but when i open up my memory optimiser it says that i only have 664mb free out of 1 gig, so i wonder whats going on....

i run everything on high execpt AA off, looks great, on mine, but i have to use a CRt monitor, Game wont support my HDTV

Download "TuneUp Utilities" or something along those lines.. great little program..

And disable your anti-virus and firewall when you're playing. The only thing I leave running when I load up the game is Xfire and TeamSpeak.

I can assure you, those are the settings I am playing at.

P4 3.0 GHz w/ HT
1024mb DDR2 SDRAM (2 DIMMS)
nVidia GeForce 6800 (Vanilla)

I have OC'd the card, but that's it. It's currently running at 420/825 without any toubles. Any higher and I get artifacting, which isn't pretty when it happens :p

I get an average of 40 - 50 FPS, though I rarely check since I never notice a stutter. Never dips below 30 either, even when I'm in an area with arty flying all over my head

I must admit, this card has been good to me.

But, try turning your lighting, dynamic lighting, dynamic shadows and texture filtering at medium. You will get a huge performance boost with no noticeable difference in graphical quality.

Fair comment, just goes to show the difference between texture ram.

That is kinda weird. Try finding a server with less people and clsoer to you or something.

6800 vanilla 256 mb 432/850 kingwin cooling from stock 325/600, my video setting are
res 1260*1024
with terrain, effect, geometry textrure on HIGH;
lightnig, shadows, dynamic light on medium,
AA x 2,
Texture Filtering on high.
Before oc'ing was 1024 x 768 with all HIGH but Dyn Light on MEDIUM, no AA.
You might need more RAM. I've got p4@3ghz 2Gb RAM
