Yeah the core clock for the GS out performs all of the 6800's including the Ultra.

Wich ever is cheaper, they are both about the same, and whoever said that the X8 series was desing to compete with the 7 series you are wrong it was againt's the 6 series that it was design for, so again wich ever is cheaper, they perform about the same, not a big difference. But the 6800 has SM3 wich X8 does not, but that's about it.

Um, reply to X850 is only good for animation, you really need to look at some benches man. The X850 is overall better than the 6800Ultra, the reason is that it's newer (it cam eout like 6 months later than the X800series and the 6800 series). I'd say go for the X850XT, higher clock speeds.
