GeForce 6800 Ultra or Radeon x850 xt

Which one of these two is the best agp graphics card out there?

and will one of these run everything on high with the rest of my system?

Kingston 2048
Asus P4P800

id say the geforce 6800 ultra, ati is better for animation, not gaming

I run the 6800gt with my alienware aurora, maxed out! One thing to think about is for some reason with the ATI cards my guys get booted alot, the only thing they have in common is the ATI card. Personally I think Geforce is the best choice.

Meh, I say buy a 6800GT and overclock it to a 6800Ultra.

6800Ultra comes up on top in games such as Doom 3 and F.E.A.R. and it way ahead of the X850XT in BF2 without very high AA ad AF, but as you set high AA and high AF, the X850XT starts to come out ahead. 6800Ultra leaves the X850XT far behind in 3DMark05 though.

I don't know where you'll find a AGP X850XT OR a AGP 6800Ultra...

6800 Ultra, hands down. Pricewatch had it for 550, and newegg didn't have it at all, so good luck finding one.

I have that same setup with an X850XT PE on PCI-Xpress and I have everything maxed out. The game runs great, and looks great too. The only card that makes it look better is the 7800GTX only because it has 24 pixel pipelines.

I had both a 6800Ultra OC and a X800XT. In BF2 the ATI card is slightly faster and also has a clearer image on my 21" CRT. The X850XT is clocked higher than the X800XT. If you want a card for BF2 then I recommend the ATI. Beware that it's powerhungry though.

Ati X8 series was suppose to compete against Nvidia 7 series.
Since X850XT is the top of the line out of all ATI cards(except the new x1800), I would say it's definitely better than any 6series even if its Ultra.
I have X800XL and I think its the best graphic card that cost under $300.

Please note that Nvidia have ceased making the 6800 Ultra GPU, I would suggest saving and getting the 7800GT or the cheaper 6800GS. 6800GT's are also in short supply, but the GS model will supercead the GT as it performs identically and is cheaper to make as it only has a 12 pixel pipeline and 5 vertex pipes.

That card is okay, but the 6800GS is much better, plus it only costs 200 bucks, which is a steal.
