Anandtec have the results and its good news for ATI and bad for the 7800GTX....the ATI thrashes it with AA on. Its embarrasing.

Thanks for the link. I've been looking for some good x1800 benchies in BF2. The x1800xt seems to keep up with the 7800GTX w/o AA, but ATI beats nvidia's big green butt with AA enabled

BF2 is the only game that ATi has a advantage that is more than 10 FPS. The GTX is still a good card.

More like Nvidia will come out with a 7800 ultra. High clock and memory speeds then a 7800 GTX.

the 7800 series competes with them, and costs less, in some cases it's actually better, and it's been around for longer, etc.

not happening, they cancelled the release of the 7800 ultra because they didn't want to put out a card that was so much better so soon after the 7800 gtx because that would slow sales on it.

wise marketing move if you ask me.

in a about 9 months i'd expect nvidia to release some new cards, and a year or so for ATI.

the x1800xl beats the 7800gt hands down too

can see ati retailing the x1800xt/xl high for long once they have sold a few to hardcore ati fans the prices will compete with nvdia

I knew the X1800s would be worth the wait. I'm going to slap that into a Crossfire setup with my X850XT PE (which btw, kills the 6800 Ultra, which is the card it was made to compete against, NOT the 7800GTX like most people seem to believe).

nock nock, you can't cross fire a X1800 series with a X800 series, hello is a totally different card, cross fire is only with the same chip set, meaning X850 with X850 and X1800 with X1800 so and so on.

What I got out of that whole article, not just the BF2 benchmarks, is that the X1800XT is an exceptional card. But then the rest of their new cards are sub par with higher price tags.

well for a cost issue compare a 512mb 6800 ultra to the X1800XT 512, also, the 7800 was what... 600 hundred dollars when released, the ATI card is cheaper just give it 2-3 weeks after release for the price to drop
