Whats an aproximate cost for something like this?

I have some money and Im wondering what it would cost to build a new pc.
If I reuse some parts like harddrive, CD drives, ethernet cards, sound, speakers,monitor,keyboard,mouse,
What would it cost to build a new PCI-E computer?
Say aproximatly a better then average AMD processor
Better then average Video
and better then average ram.
Also good PSU, Mobo, etc.

I currently have 3 GHz, 1 Gig Ram and 9800 pro. My options are add one more gig and a new AGP card, or build a new pc.

Video ~$300 (6800GT)
Processor~$280 (3700+)
RAM 2GB ~$220
MOBO~$100 or less (DFI Lanparty)
PSU~$80 ish

Total~$900 for better than average.

Eh, I'd pass on that mobo and processor. If you going to spend over $200 on a CPU might as well get the San Diego.

Hmm its a lot more expensive than I thought. Ill probably end up getting 1 gb corsair value ram and the a 300 dollar video card.

Im selling my Ps2 to pay for video card xD

I got the msi mobo, and it's an excellent board, and unless you really want to oc, the dfi board is too picky for most people.

Most of the stuff I see here is good, except the power supplies. OCZ makes some of the best ram...but not PSU's....the Aspire I wouldn't trust as far as I could spit. ....don't be fooled by the shiny finish and flashy lights on a lot of pricey PSU's out there.

If you looking for a good PSU under $100 this is the one to get. For the money it can't be beat.

You sir, are very wrong with that statement. I'd like to know why you think that is true, and/or see one piece of evidence to support this theory of yours.


I every review I've ever read about PSUs (and I've read more than a few) OCZ is usually one of the top 2 of manufacturers recommended.
