Also, you should lower some settings, You can't get 60-100 fps with those settings.

Bf2 is that demanding, and I have a somehwhat similar, but better system.

    AMD 4000+
    2gb ocz platinum
    bfg 7800 gtx oc
    wd raptor 74 10,000 rpm
    Wrong.
Notice the fps being dependant on the number of men in the server.
Those are actual numbers and I got the same last night.
Also, I still don't believe that the processors will bottleneck the GPU's.
Yes, you have a much better rig than mine.

i have heard of the pc's bottlenecking the GPU... many good hardware sites have said it... but there is no way a 3700+ would ... we're talking 3000+ and lower... and i dont even know if those numbers have been proven.

Congrats alphakry, glad the sound change fixed your issue. I was amazed as to what a difference in fps sound could make in a game.

This is why people shouldn't come to these forums for hardware support, people like you put your 2 cents in when you're clueless about everything besides what you read on here, nothing personal, just a general fact about the majority of users on these forums, it's almost as if you're all aspiring hardware advocates.

Basically, graphics cards are a generation ahead of processors, i.e., today's best graphics cards would run at their full potential if given a processor of the same potential to run along with.

Actually I got my info studying actual benchmarks comparing different CPU's. The goal of this study was intended to see at what point the GPUs' performance would deteriorate due to an insufficient processor, not from information gained on this forum. I also wouldn't call your statement a general fact, more a generalization based on your opinion. I don't claim to know all, but I do, and have been, building PC's since 300Mhz was an "Ultimate Processor". I do try and pickup more information from any source I can and then check the validity of that information before passing it along. I'm not in any way offended. I just want to support my case.
I agree GPU's are a generation ahead. This means they're technologically more advanced, but does not mean they're performance will be degraded because of it.

                    Re: 7800GTX having FPS issues...

One thing that helped me was installing my CPU, VGA, and other misc. drivers that came with my mobo on the CD. I was getting 15-30fps and a 4131 on 3dmark05. After my AMD64 3500+ upgrade and new motherboard it went into the 2300's . So I played around with stuff and after installing the drivers it jumped to 5800's on 3dmark05 and I get 40-80fps on 64 player maps and 70-90 on 20 player maps with Ultra high settings and 4xAA. Thats with Hardware sound on High with my onboard Realtek ALC850. Even if it turned out to be the sound I'd recommend looking into your motherboard drivers for a possible larger boost.
