Since it sounds like its a bad HDD altogether just buy a new one, youre gonna have to buy a new one sometime. And this way you can get info off of it before it completley fries itself.

if it starts up and just completly turns off take out your mobo battery for 10 mins resetting your bios and cmos, i once oc'ed and put stuff up to high and it would start then just cut out, so take out the mobo battery for 10 mins then put back in, tell me if it works

anychance you got a diff stick of ram to try? mine would reboot itself and i just built this thing 1week ago, and i found it to be a bad stick of ram, im 99% certain its the same for you! hope this helps

p.s try deep clearing your CMOS
1. take you power lead
2. switch on pc
3. take out battery for half hour
4. put batt back in
5. plug power lead back in
6. clear cmos using jumpers 2&3
7. return jumper back to 1&2
8. start her up

Just short the cmos with the jumper

already tried the cmos already tried changing ram from 2,4 to 1,3

ok i talked whith asus right now and they say that this is a definate harddrive problems and the OS, so i ran chkdsk /p and that says that there are one or more errors on the harddrive

so im problably going to get a new one, problably a western digital caviar.

i had this exactproblem on my laptop turns out the hard drive had died. And laptop hard drives arnt cheap for what u get.

It may or may not be a virus. I had one a year a go called "Thasser". It just did constant reboots on me after going to windows load screen. If you have antivirus call them and bitch about it, see what they tell you. I had to reformat and start from scratch. GL
