Re: Going From 64x2 to FX57

Why are you giving a client your current X2 processor, you're ripping him off unless he asked for it. You could get all high-performance parts from newegg.com, and spend less than you because you supposedly make 500 bucks for every computer sold. You wasted way too much on your pc, for gaming, it makes at most 20 fps (for more cpu dependent games) differnece. And i know you play games and do regular stuff, you got 7800GTXs, not nvidia quadros, or ATi Fire GL, and you got regular AMD A64, a real programmer would use opteron, orxeon processors. And yeah, i bet you got a whole lot of friends, especially on this hardware forum.

If it's only for gaming, then upgrade to the FX series instead of getting X2.

I have yet to see any flamer make anything other than unfounded accustions at my expense. Yes the X2 is going to a videophile for home editing, where do you base your facts on my fees? I use NewEgg, Monarch, FrozenCpu, and others? My margin is between $250 and $500 my pricing ranges on the need s of the individual. Considering I do this for fun you sure have a lot to bitch about. Sure there are smarter, people with more talent than me.

I have a day Job a wife and family. I also have a genuine love of technology
What I have learnt is although my ego is not dependent on the need to put other people down there seems to be a jealous few who must.

Now I am not going to rise to the bait anymore I have stated my case and defended myself enough.

This is a forum to help people surely you flamers can realize that!

I tried to push it under load and it seems it does not load balance but acts as 2 CPUs so as Epsion said its wiser to look at the FX series, I learned the hard way :)

FX definitely better than X2 for gaming, although some games coming out will have support for dual core (FEAR).

WTF is your problem dude? If he likes to do that then let him. A lot of people collect cars or fix up classic cars and don't use them much but thats what they like. Let him live the life he wants and do whatever the phuck he wants with his money.

I purely am having fun with you. Computer-Cool-Guys like you are like women. They want bigger **** just like a computer-cool-guy wants a faster, bigger computer. guess it's the low self-e-steam so they feel good about themselves putting together a computer that isnt even any better than a $1k one. i run BF2 on HIGH and so do you. you dont lag, i dont lag.. it's all the way and you decided to spend an extra $2k easily.

                          pure e-balls.

^^ what a nice guy... anyway, my uncle is exactly the same in computers, he builds them for fun, and hardly uses them to game. Its purly out of love for technology not having a bigger better computer than everyone else. **** my computer is not the best, but im always looking to upgrade no matter what game i'm playing. E-Balls mmm I eat E-Balls for breakfast...

Building computers is cake... If it's such a passion, create a full on business instead of doing side orders. I do side orders and I dont charge anyone anything, unless I don't know them at all. Otherwise, it's fun yes.. But why upgrade your own computer you barely use for anything...

Using 64x2 = stupid anyway - nothing uses em yet

Dont bother upgrading unless you work a lot with video. Why would you want to upgrade your 3800 anyway.....its a very powerful chip anyway. I doubt there would be any difference in BF2 if you upgraded to an FX55/57 as its not a CPU bound game.

                                Question for Openheimer.

Whats the approximate performance difference between ram timed at 3-3-3-8 compared to ram timed at 2-2-2-6? Assume both running a 1T and 400Mhz and running say...Doom3.
