Yeah i persoanally prefer nVidia as well, but maybe Ati will somehow kick it up a notch and surprise us, i certainly don't have anything against Ati, its just right now nVidia is better.
DOes it matter which manufacturer you use? I just try to use what is current and performance. I have a media rig with an ATI 850 works fine and the SLi stuff is really cool. I have had to blow away XP64 (again) due to some over enthusiastic Riva tuning that stopped the &800gtxs from booting
I am steadily driving the 3dMark05 upwards and got 10998 0n the last pass.
There are new 64bit forceware out if any one is using XP64
When ATI released the 9700 PRO they caught Nvidia with their pants down and it took Nvidia a long time to recover from it. Right now Nvidia has got the advantage but it can change quickly. The current ATI cards 850XT / 850XT PE are good and fast cards they are just a bit overpriced. Once ATI manages to reduce prices on them they will be good deals.
I have both a 6800 Ultra and a X800XT and I use the ATI at the moment. The X800 seemes to have slightly better perfomance when the action gets really heavy in BF2. I'm gonna retest the 6800 with some modded drivers. The best deal right now must be the 7800GT. If I had the money I would buy it.
