When i game, hit PRINTSCREEN. Then go to: MYDocuments/BF2/Screenshots. Apparently it wont let me post anymore w/ out going to some storage server.

You can't compare computer ability with screenshots alone. I have an ATI Mobile 9700. Basically, that is a ATI 9600. It is a very average video card, yet when I crank up the settings and put myself on my own server, nice things happen...especially if I am taking an image of a single frame:





No, my screenies might not look as nice as yours G-Money, but they're not bad for my specs below. Really, my video card sucks.

In reality both cards will be similar in performance.

However on new games the Shader Model 3.0 will be affected.

Half Life 2 Lost Coast, will be using it in their new HDR technology, ATI cards will not be able to enable this feature (until the R520 is released), but anyone with an Nividia 6600 GT, 6800, 7800 etc will be able to use it.

Day of Defeat Source will also be using it.

Age of Empires 3.

So you probably would have been slightly better off with the 6800. But w/e, its not that big of a deal, you just wont be able to see some fancy lighting effects and ****.

Unfortunately i will not play any of those, I have very limited time (family and running a business). I'm very happy w/ BF2 and am just waiting for mods and new maps. All my buddy's play this too, and thats all i need. Originally, this thread was to ask other radeon users for input on dialing in the card, and turned into a flame war. Honestly i have always used nvidia and was always happy. But due to lack of time and money, I chose a strong card w/ a great warranty for a good price. In a year i will get a 7800 or whatever is equal to it. But dont say my comp sucks and the card is sh*t. For what i paid, i think it rocks.

Mrbucket, what's your aa and image filtering settings. I get much smoother lines than you do. I cranked mine to 6xAA. It's REALLY nice. Oh, and finally, i see TBF2 has tightened up on banning rules, G-money finally got banned, i think he shoulda gotten banned like 3 months ago, he's been doing this ever since i know, he already got a temporary ban before. And now, the whole hardware section can rejoice WAHOOO.

Yeah, i got 6x aa on but w/ open gl instead of the 3d. It runs smoother for me now until i get my card cooler. I dropped it back down to stock settings.
Thurs. is when i get it, then back to overclock w/ full high on 3D. The Screens do loose a little quality, but still pretty cool. I'm 31 and grew up with atari (lol) and now look where technology is at. Amazing!

So on to G-Money, ive posted with him before and no problems. But, man if i coulda reached through his modem and let em have it..............Im glad he's gone, and thanks for support.

I'll jack my settings on 3D later and get some screens to post, i'm curious now, but i did see a change going to open GL.
