Oh yeah, my bad guys. I was thinkin at all when I posted that. The opteron is based on the 940 core. Drr..

Socket 939 supports dual channel for memory, but there still isn't much of an increase in speed from that.

For real dude please read the posts previous to yours. There are 4 of the 512 sticks totalling 2gig.

you should get a bigger monitor, at least get a 19" i dont know how anyone can stand 17" monitors(i have 21.3" but you probably dont want that big cause its too much $$$), you should try and get at least a 19" if you still can. just that and maybe a better processor(but what you have is decent), other than those 2 things its not too bad.
