I'm gonna have to disagree, you need more than a gig to run this game SMOOTHLY on maxed settings with AA and AF on. I tried takin one of my gigs out and it was studdering more than I would like.

As for your original question, I'm not sure about P4's but with AMD Athlon 64's the performance between a 3000 and a FX-57 is identical. There is no bottlenecking occurance with AMD64's.

I can run it smoothly on high settings and 2x AA just fine with 1 gig personally

I think it depends on the RAM

I cant run it on highest settings, but I only have a 128mb video card.

1 gig shouldnt be a problem at all

When I am looking at your stats, and your lagging, i'm saying "WTF no way." When you tweaked your settings, did you quit the game first, delete the BF2 cache, then joined a server to optimze shaders? I think (stress:think) its a bug where the game wont optimize after clearing the

Next question: a 7800 wont help the matter if the drivers for the mobo, vid card and sound card (if you got a dedicated one that isnt onboard) are not up to date. There's more I could say, but the eariler above is an important one, as I notice it does help quite a bit. There is also PB updating as well...

I dont think you can OC a dell. And also I think you would have a 6800 GTO (which is in between a NU and GT) because dell 8400's never came with a GT unless you upgraded it that is.
