Yeah, i heard that too, i heard the R520 would be 16 pipes, but have insanely high core and memory clock speeds, like 700/1500, which would make them compete with the 7800GTX.

i dont think the r520 will come with 32 pipes

24 pipes would beat the 7800gtx because of the higher clock speed the r520 will have

so 32 pipes will be overkill
until nvidia either releases it 7800 ultra or there 90nm cards which they are talking about

then ati will comes with the r580 maybe with 32 pipes

Yes, the top model like the GTX will have 32 pipelines. However all the lower models will have 24 and 16 pipelines respectively. I will most likely get an R520XT PE Crossfire for my master, and have my X850XT PE as my slave.....can you say whopass?
