If you have enough ram installed you can make your own ram drive

Yeah, I've heard about Ram disc hard drives. Very fast. It's probably what we'll all be using in the near future.

yes true, but I have rambus and to upgrade my 2 gig to 4 gig to use 2 gig as ramdrive, gets me way over 600$ (rambus is very very expensive) so I get cheaper ramdrive by buying this one

? not sure if im understanding you correctly but you cant exactly make a ram drive using the ram connected to your mobo.....

Slap 2gigs worth on it and install windows onto it ^^ now you can load as many programs on startup as you want

Yeah, this looks far to impractical for todays use. The storage space is far to small, and it would cost about 400 dollars to get 4 gb of ram. I'm just going to get a raptor instead of my ****ty IDE harddrive.

I'm gonna have to actually agree with G-Money () for once, 4 GB is nothing at all. If it was at least 15GB I would buy it in a heartbeat.

I read the whole review, I wasn't to impressed the times were only dramaticly increases when transfering files. The load times were not that much better. I can wait 5 more seconds and save 500 dollars. I'll be passing on this one. I need a new monitor so ill be putting money towards that.

LOL, common sense tells you the benefit of a RamDrive and the fact that Ive been using one for years tells me I dont need to read a review about it.

Been using one for years, havent had a virus or spyware infection since.

What I do is place my Internet cache on Ram Drive. That way it is impossible for you to get a virus (unless of course you download a .exe and run it).

I no longer bother with Antivirus or spyware programs, internet files no longer touch my hard drive. Not only that the pages snap to and fro like Im Alex getting the treatment in CWO.

It still amazes me that people dont use ram drives today, and Im even more amazed that it hasnt become the default method of surfing the internets.

I can show you where to get legit, non warez, free Ram drive that is NOT locked like the demo in article if youre interested.

I usually run 250 megs ram drive just for ie cache, I pump....I mean bump it up if Im surfing porn. just kidding, no really Im just kidding.

                            see this link?

Well I have the original from a year ago and it was free for awhile, then they changed the product. So if you want it?

I also have another ram drive product that has no lock on drive size that was free made by some dude, and it works.

How to assign the Internet Cache to a RAM drive in Firefox

(Or anywhere else, for that matter)

                            1. Close Firefox

                            2. Copy the following line into Notepad:

                            user_pref("browser.cache.disk.parent_directory","Z :\\");

                            3. Save the file as user.js in the following folder:

                            C:\Windows\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\default.qed

(The above path may vary depending on your system and/or your version of Mozilla/Firefox)

                            4. Re-open Firefox

                            another interesting link,

                            and,

You can probably figure out how to do it yourself alnong with the free driver,
