Funny, I read the first post and understood what he meant, then suddenly this thread turned into a huge e-penis measuring contest. Wow, you sure know how to spend money, that must make you super cool!

Anyway, back on topic, I agree that 256mb is mostly a gimmick for older/weaker cards. I've seen plenty of 256mb 5200FXs that can't run minesweeper without lagging. It's just like now, there are some 512mb cards that only add about 5% increase in certain games and most of the time you won't be able to tell. But ram is cheap and it looks good on a box to have more ram (i.e. which would you most likely get if you knew nothing about computers and just went by the box... 256MB 9600XT or a 128MB 6600GT?)

yo g money is correct
i mean a FX-57 wont help much when paired to a 6600GT
for sure a 3200 at 2.5ghz with a 6800gt oc would crush that system
and for sure 4 gbs wont do jack!, anything or 2 wont really help, and u need x64 windows to support anything more than 2.5gb or ram
Any yeah a 4800 OC with a SLI 6600gt setup would perform in the range of

That isn't what you said at all. The thread starter posts an informative thread explaining how if you are looking into getting a cheaper/older graphics card w/ 256mb of ram on it won't help so there isn't a point in getting one. Then you come out of the closet and say:

ok have fun showing me a person with a 6600gt that compares to my computer.

Which is flamebait and has nothing to do with the topic. The topic wasn't about comparing a 6600gt to your computer. Just recommendations for getting cards with 256MB of ram. So take your limp e-penis, and please die first.
