Oh yes! What would be a decent OC for a stock 8800 GTS 320MB?

For my CPU, I know the stock cooler should take me to around 3.6, but I'm gonna hold off on the OC until I can afford a better cooler.

Alex would be the one to ask about OC'ing (especially since I've never had a 8800 GTS ).

I would suggest a Tuniq tower for cooling. I have one and its awesome. (and $50, I think.) My CPU is running at 20 C and overclocked from 1.8 to 2.8. :)

Nice OC Alex. Are you using the stock cooler? Just trying to get an idea here of how hard I can push. I've already cranked the fan up with Rivatuner months ago, but never OC'd the card.

For my CPU I'm thinking of investing a little more on the heatsink, not quite water cooling, but something like the Ultra ChillTEC cooler (like $150 US).

EDIT:

My GPU is currently clocked @ 625MHz Core / 951MHz Memory / 1399MHz Shader
Temp seems to be stable, after several rounds of 3Dmark06 and some gaming for stability check. No higher than 65°C according to GPU-z and Everest. I might push it a tad further later.

Just scored 14k with the 9800GTX at stock. Def not much of an improvement over my old 88 Ultra but I sold my Ultra for 400 and bought the gtx for 299! woot! getting payed to upgrade ftw!

Ebay ftw! Sold the ultra on there then bought the new 9800 gtx from newegg. Ended up selling to some ex-cop from chicago with 10+ systems and he just wanted it to see how SLI worked with Ultras. He already had a 9800gtx sli system. Wish I had that kind of money to blow...
