I just went to the 'optimal settings' which got me about 300 more marks. I now want to break 5K.

I did 'coolbits' and then clicked 'Detect Opimal Frequencies' and 2 minutes later it changed my freqs to 490/1310 from 430/1200. My temps don't get any higher either!

Does 'coolbits' make u OC safely? So the temps won't rise with only the "package" fans and stuff, no extra cooling system?

                Re: 3DMark06 scores

Well I've had no problems 'yet.' The optimal freqs are what the manufacturer reccomends so they shouldn't go too much higher. But you can go beyond those freqs but I think the temps will start to rise a bit.

The stock cooling is only good for stock speeds and light OCs. Any further and you'll need other cooling or watercooling.

the temps DO rise, depending on how high you raise the clocks. My temps raise 10C sometimes, it all depends on the card/chip/frequencies. I would suggest (for those who are pros at it) to manually do it slowly. I mean, my card went up 15C when I OCed from 425 to 460. Coolbits tried to put my settings at like 525! Geez!
If you have a single card, you can go up higher, but with SLi, your temps rise muc faster, and I have a SMAALLLLLL ASSS motherboard.

^ Lol. It's because the card are closer in SLi so the airflow isn't as good. Which is why I may get SLi watercooling if I go SLi so I can OC even further :p and my CPU.

I dont need WC, the GS runs fairly cool. Even OCed. But yeah, since the cards are closer the temps rise. But also because I have a small ass mobo. Instead of having more separated slots, like some mobos, my two PCIe slots are very very close, so they heat up more than for example a DFI Lan Party mobo, with the PCie slots two spaces away, as oppsed to mine which is only one away from eachother.

Optimal frequencies is not what the manufactuerer reccomends. It automaticly runs some tests and detects the highest clockspeed without erroring out of the test.
