waste of money if u ask me. u dont make the games so theres no point. an AMD 64 3800 or 3400 is perfect with enough memory and video card
In some respects I agree. If people are spending hard earned money and money really matters to them I always suggest buying only whats required to do the job. If you can get good deals here and there or are in the trade sometimes though it's not such a bad deal to go for high end stuff. One advantage about buying top if the line is that it will be a very long time before you absolutely need to upgrade.
Some people are super rich as well and hell if you can afford it why not. You only live once. And yeah we all know SLI 7800GTX's aren't required but again if you have them you're looking at at least 2 years before a required upgrade and to run them you need a kick ass CPU. That's the trouble with pooters, everythings got to run in line. If you want to spend money you have to do it equally or you're gunna bottleneck. You definately gotta have deep pockets.
on the other hand its worth geting for future stuff like hardware and software. like if OS comes out for it and so on. its a good invesment for the future
Chopper: I run a large distribution company for a living. I use my company's IT department's business discount for parts. I have an agreement with 3 local electronics chain stores who recommend me to people looking for more than stock machines they sell the peripherals I build the rig, everybody’s happy.
Here in Indiana I have a sales tax certificate and charge 6% to the end user. (Not 17.5% you Brits have)If I build 3 machines I get one free. That allows be to keep one machine as a leet gamer.
I like to try the latest stuff out and the experience means I can sell that on to the end user. BF2 was a godsend, little Mickey’s dell just doesn’t cut it, I come up with a rig with epenis enlargement, mom pays, its all good.
