Not all betas are bad, I have been using the 78.11 drivers for almost a month now and they are the best I have yet to use. :)

I have not had any very bad experiences with betas in the past. I guess I like to stay as much mainstream as possible. Perhaps that is just the chicken in me.

I am still running 77.77 because 78.01 only adds support for the 6500 video card (never heard of it yet), and so I do not need it.

Updated with the latest leaked drivers from the French FDR/Station drivers site.
BF2 shadow bug is STILL there though

OK Maybe Im missing something here... which drivers should I use?

I have a GEFORCE 5700LE. The current driver from dxdiag shows ver 6.14.0010.7801, but it says it is not WHQL.

I cant run on medium very well, right now I have custom settings which work OK.

heres the rest of my specs
AMD athlon XP2800+ MMX 3dnow 2.1Ghz
1024 RAM Corsair HP
page file 280MB used 1673 available
directx 9.0c

I was reading somewhere about changing virtual memory settings, I did so and have my pagefile set to slave drive at 1024, although it says 1534 recommended. Also my slave drive is an older one- not as fast as primary but windows says slave is better to use.

Any tips, comments??

IVe been running beta 8.18's since yesterday and they run BF2 smooth. For ATI useres only. I am not responsble if your computer blows up, you lose your hair or you fry your card, if your GF or wife leaves you. USE THESE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Okay guys this kind of confusing to me, I just bought a 7800GT the most updated driver for me would be The one SIR KARL posted? Also how do I know I use 32 or 64bit?

Yes, and you will need the 32 bit version.

Well, now the 81.95 official drivers are out. Exactly the same as the 81.94 but it is WHQL certified. Here is the link:

cant you just go to start>control panel>System>Hardware>device manager>click on the video card(motherbaord etc)>update driver.?

I just upgraded to a GeForce 6600 GT OC after constantly seeing that I needed to upgrade my drivers everytime I played that didnt work with my old Card. My game played fine with the old card. When I put this new one in, The ground in gameplay looks like the water. Ripples, reflections and all. Fences are there but you can see through them. I have called the Card manufacurer, (BFG Tech) and they have had me do things from the driver cleaner, to trying older drivers, changing all the stuff in my Bios. Ayone have a clue what this might be? The water is only on the dirt and road surfaces. Grass, rocks and trees are still there. In a building, the floors are there and sidewalks are too. I am stumped. BFG says they have never heard of anything like this.
